******* MEET
THE NEW BHCC CLUB MANAGER*******
The Operating Board of the Berkshire Hills Country
Club has approved the Selection
Committee’s choice of Ian Anthony Ferro as
the new Club Manager.
Ian comes to Berkshire Hills with a
distinguished 30-year background in the
restaurant and hospitality industry and was
chosen from a pool of over 30 applicants.
He is originally from the Rock of
Gibraltar, a British colony at the most
southerly tip of Spain.
After
graduating from hotel school, he worked in
France, England, Scotland, Wales and the
Republic of Ireland.
Subsequently, he joined the cruise
line industry and worked for Chandris,
Celebrity, Disney and Royal Caribbean Cruise
Lines.
Ian continued his career in the
hospitality industry as Catering Manager at
the former Berkshire Hilton, now the Crowne
Plaza.
He then held positions at Wheatleigh
Inn in Lenox, the Williams College Faculty
House/Alumni Center in Williamstown and
Berkshire School in Sheffield.
Prior to accepting his new position
at Berkshire Hills Country Club, Ian was
employed by Sodexho USA in their Corporate
Services Division, managing their food and
beverage operations in Chicopee, MA,
Springfield, MA and Simsbury. CT.
Ian is married to the former Leah Grandshaw.
The couple has two children, Joleigh

The BHCC Board of Directors, along with the membership, would

SINCERELY
THANK Lori Cooke
for the outstanding job she did as Event

letters were received by the Board from
exceptionally satisfied customers praising
Lori's performance during this period. Lori

MESSAGE FROM THE CLUB
PRESIDENT
As
our first full year in the new clubhouse
comes to a close, I would like to make a few
comments:
The
building and pool have proven to be a
great success.
They have generated both pool and
golf memberships and, of course, a huge
increase in the banquet business. The
course has been in outstanding condition all
season and the increase in golf memberships
did not appear to have a negative impact on
play. The future looks quite promising
for BHCC at this time and we hope that every
member shares that view.
I
would like to thank a number of people for
their efforts this year: The members of both
boards for their tireless volunteer efforts
to make the club successful; Steve Curry
for his excellent work both on the course
and around the building; Bob Meheran for his
professionalism and for bringing Luke
Salvatore on board; Joe Gleason for many
years of dedicated service at the pool; Beth
and Wilkie for an outstanding year in the
kitchen; Ben Enright for guiding us through
the opening months; and Ian Ferro for
joining us and bringing with him an
abundance of professionalism and enthusiasm.
And
thank you to Lori Cooke for her outstanding
efforts in bridging the gap between Ben and
Ian. We would have been lost without her.
Finally,
one individual has proven to be
extremely valuable and irreplaceable
throughout the last few years --- that
person is Sam Nykorchuck. If you see
Sam, say thanks, because he has dedicated
himself to the "HILLS" and
the club is a better place because of his
efforts.
THANKS, SAM!!!
As
I already have said, the future looks good;
but, we are still in uncharted financial
waters and while revenue is up so are
expenses.
We
have a mortgage to pay and other
expenses to deal with, so please trust the
members of the board and believe that we are
on the right path.
Thanks
to everyone for a wonderful year and I hope
there are many more down the road.
