Twentieth Annual Pewter Cup Tournament.
This Tournament is a two-man,
best-ball format.
Enclosed are program and tournament
notes, and your invitation to participate in
this event.
In order to familiarize yourself with
all aspects of this tournament; please
review the enclosed "TOURNAMENT NOTES” carefully.
We hope you will be pleased with our
tournament format and we welcome any
suggestions that you feel might further
improve this event.

NOTES
·
In order to maintain a
reasonable pace of play, the field will be
limited to 128 teams (256 players).
·
Entry fee is $260 per team. Check must accompany entry along with additional reservations
for meals.
Submission of a tournament
application does not constitute guaranteed
entry. Internal team selection will be based on greatest past
participation.
External team selection will be based
on both past performance and participation.
·
Berkshire Hills Country Club
has retained the same staff (i.e. Bob
Meheran – Golf Professional, Steve Curry
– Green’s Superintendent and B&W
Catering) that helped make last year’s
event so successful. The Tournament
Committee is excited to be working with them
to make this event an even bigger success.
·
An attested handicap MUST BE presented when registering on Friday. A zero handicap
will be assigned in its absence. Please
provide GHIN numbers, if available.
·
A practice round will be
permitted any WEEKDAY
prior to the tournament and only
after your confirmation of entry.

Friday’s round (June 20) tee
times will be assigned.
We will notify by mail the team
member whose name and address appear first
on the tournament application.

All teams are advised to report to the registration desk 30 minutes
prior to their scheduled tee time.
·
Tournament format and setting
of divisions will be the same as last year.
All teams will play GROSS within their own
division. Divisions will be determined as
follows: CHAMPIONSHIP
and 1st DIVISION will consist of any
team whose combined handicap sums to 12 or
less and any team wishing to compete for the
CHAMPIONSHIP. We anticipate that teams competing for CHAMPIONSHIP
will be divided into two 16-team divisions
based on Friday’s score. Any team
competing for CHAMPIONSHIP
and not qualifying will be moved to the
appropriate division as defined below. DIVISIONS 2 through 7 will be determined by the Low Man’s handicap
(i.e. 16 lowest handicaps play in the 2nd
division, next 16 low handicaps make up the
3rd and so on). Ties, at the
point where the divisions break, will be
broken by the #2 man’s handicap.

Tournament. Once you get to the BHCC site, click on tournaments and then
the Pewter Cup link. We will be using this
site to post the latest Tournament
information (i.e. applications, tee times,
etc) as it becomes available. You can also
the BHCC wesite to follow
progress on our new clubhouse.

ALL
TEAMS will qualify from BLUE
TEES on FRIDAY.
Play on Saturday and Sunday for CHAMPIONSHIP,
1st and 2nd divisions
will be from the GOLD
tees. Divisions
3 through 7 will play the BLUE
tees on Saturday and Sunday.
·
In the event of ties for first
place in any division (at completion of
final round), teams will enter a sudden
death playoff.
All subsequent places will be
determined by matching of cards as
recommended by U.S.G.A. guidelines.
·
We will be running a
Player’s Pool this year. The details of
the Player’s Pool will be provided at the
check-in desk before Friday’s round.
·
We have provided a space on
the application for Teams to indicate their
preferred tee time for Friday’s
round. We will try to honor everyone’s
request. If you do not have a need or strong preference please do not
circle either choice. If we cannot honor all
requests, the committee will be as fair as
possible in assigning tee times.
·
Berkshire Hills members must
sign-up through the Club Pro Shop. They may
not enter on a non-members application.
·
Berkshire Hills Country Club
is spikeless, please have appropriate footwear for the Tournament
